Humans & AI – Local Experiments in Schöneck (Germany)

As part of the ongoing exploration of human–AI interaction, we are currently conducting public round-table discussions in Schöneck (Germany) under the title “Humans & AI: Risk or Opportunity?”.

These meetings bring together citizens and local representatives to discuss whether a municipal AI – informally called “Schöneck KI” – could provide concrete support for local governance and community life.

While the focus is local, the questions are universal:

  • How can democratic communities use AI not as an external power, but as a shared tool?
  • What would it mean to build trustworthy, transparent AI at the level of everyday life?
  • Could small-scale experiments serve as prototypes for democratic AI governance elsewhere?

Full reports (in German) are published on the Citizen Science 2.0 platform: oksimo.org.

In this way, a small municipality becomes a laboratory for exploring the future of human–AI symbiosis.
